Deep research tools compared
Each page below sets one research tool against Hyperresearch, using the vendor’s own pricing, help and documentation pages, dated and linked. Where a vendor does not publish a figure, the page says so. Where we graded both tools on the same DRACO tasks with the same judge, the scores are included, with what ten tasks can and cannot tell you.
The short version: the app products (ChatGPT deep research, Gemini, Perplexity) are fast and included in a subscription, the developer APIs (Parallel, Valyu, Perplexity’s Agent API) are cheap per call and built for volume, and Hyperresearch is for the case where one long report is the deliverable: $9 or $49 flat, with its cited claims checked against their sources before it ships.
Research in the chat apps
- ChatGPT deep research vs Hyperresearch Plans, task limits, exports and citation checking for ChatGPT app users.
- Gemini Deep Research vs Hyperresearch The Gemini app mode and the Gemini API agent, with prices and limits.
- Perplexity deep research vs Hyperresearch Research mode, the Agent API that replaced Sonar Deep Research, and cost per report.
- Deep research pricing compared Plan prices and deep research allowances for ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity, and per-task API prices, in two tables.
- Deep research limit reached: your options What to do when ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude says you are out of deep research for now.
Deep research APIs
- OpenAI deep research API alternatives What replaces o3-deep-research and o4-mini-deep-research after their July 2026 shutdown, and how the calls map to Hyperresearch’s /v1/runs.
- Parallel Task API vs Hyperresearch Processors from half a cent to $2.40 a task against one checked report, structured output, MCP and rate limits.
- Valyu DeepResearch vs Hyperresearch Modes, licensed journal and market data, price per task, and scores on the same DRACO tasks.
Paid research subscriptions
- Research subscription costs and cheaper routes What IBISWorld, Statista, Mintel, Gartner, PitchBook and others charge, and the cheaper routes to one answer.
How the scores were made
The DRACO figures on these pages come from one board: Hyperresearch Deep runs and other research agents on the same 10 DRACO tasks, graded by the same judge in October 2026. How we tested has every task score, which systems were run and which were graded from published reports, and the limits of a ten-task sample.
